Xavi: I’m very happy to win the award; it came as a result of team effort

Al-Sadd star Xavi Hernandez has spoken of his happiness after winning the club’s Player of the Month award for February.

Speaking to the club website, Xavi said: “I want to thank the fans who voted for me. I also want to thank the players of Al-Sadd for their performances in the recent period, which made us reach the top of the table. I hope the fans continue to support the team strongly in the coming matches, especially the next match against Umm Salal.”

Xavi also pointed out that the award came as a result of great effort from all the players and the team as a whole. “We need to continue working hard and give our best in the upcoming matches in order to keep competing for the league title this season. There are only 4 matches left.”
