Al-Sadd conclude preparations for Umm Salal

The Al-Sadd football first team concluded on Wednesday evening its preparations for the upcoming QSL Round 23 match against Umm Salal, with a final training session that was held at the club’s training pitch.

The game against Umm Salal is set to kick off at 7:05 PM on Thursday at the Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium (Qatar SC).

Technical drills with the ball

The coaching staff used Wednesday’s final session to implement the physical training routine and also focus on technical drills with the ball, which varied between offensive and defensive aspects. The players then underwent reaction exercises in small areas before concluding the session with a practice match between themselves.

Ferreira announces 18-man squad

After the session, head coach Jesualdo Ferreira announced the 18-man matchday squad for the game against Umm Salal.

The squad is as follows: Saad Al-Dosari, Muhannad Naim, Abdelkarim Hassan, Morteza Pouraliganji, Hussam Kamal, Baghdad Bounedjah, Jasir Yahya, Xavi, Hamza Al-Sanhaji, Ali Asad, Mohammed Kasola, Khalfan Ibrahim, Hassan Al-Haydos, Meshaal Qasim, Ahmed Bader Sayyar, Hamid Ismail, Ayoob Mashhoor, Abdulaziz Al-Jalabi.

Ibrahim, Hamroun, Pedro & Salem miss out

The squad announcement confirmed the absence of Ibrahim Majid, Jugurtha Hamroun, Pedro Miguel and Salem Al-Hajri for the match against Umm Salal. Ibrahim Majid is down with an illness while Jugurtha Hamroun is yet to be declared technically fit to play after his recent injury. Pedro misses out because of suspension after he picked up his fourth yellow card in the previous game against Al-Khor. As for Salem Al-Hajri, he is currently recovering after undergoing a cartilage surgery which will keep him out of action for 4-6 weeks.

Closed camp at the Westin

After the end of the session, the team left for a closed camp at the Westin Doha Hotel, where they will stay until the time of departure for the match.
