Xavi: Happy to extend my contract with the club; grateful for the confidence

“This is a special day for me and I wish to thank Al-Sadd Club for their confidence in me. I promise everyone that I will perform at the level expected of me,” said the midfield star. “I’m grateful to the club for extending my contract and I will work hard to win titles in the coming period.”
Asked about the competition from the other clubs this season, Xavi said: “Of course, the competition has been intense. Al-Sadd have a big opportunity to win the title and we will fight to acheive that. All that we have to do is to work hard until the end of the league and win all the remaining matches to win this title that we deserve, considering the performance we have shown so far since the start of the season.”
He went on to add: “Ahead of us is a tough game against Al-Gharafa on Friday which will be big test for the team as we look to get closer to the top spot. I hope the Al-Sadd fans will be there to support us.”
As for the Asian campaign, Xavi pointed out that the game against Esteghlal is only the beginning of the campaign and that the team must prepare well for it. “The match against Esteghlal is crucial and it will be tough playing away from home. We must be fully prepared to navigate through this playoff round and enter the group stages of the AFC Champions League.”
Xavi concluded by saying: “Al-Sadd is my beautiful family. I am enjoying myself playing here with this group of players. I repeat my thanks to everyone, the fans and the management, everyone who helped me.”
