QNB Stars League: Al-Sadd lose to Al-Duhail

Al-Sadd fell to their second defeat in the 2019-20 QNB Stars League, after losing 4-1 to Al-Duhail in the Round 9 game which was played at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium on Saturday evening.

Although Al-Sadd went 1-0 up through Hassan Al-Haydos (14), Al-Duhail replied with goals from Mohammad Muntari (34′) and Karim Boudiaf (45′) to lead 2-1 at halftime. Edmilson (81′) and Almoez Ali (90′) then scored two more goals late on in the second half to complete the 4-1 win. Al-Duhail defender Ahmed Yasser was sent off in the 88th minute.

The result means that Al-Sadd remain in third place in the league standings with 15 points, after five wins and two defeats, and two games in hand against Al-Arabi and Al-Khor. Al-Sadd’s next game is against Qatar SC on November 8.
