Al-Sadd’s international players returned to the club for training on Wednesday, joining the preparations for the 2019 AFC Champions League semifinal second leg against Al-Hilal.

The match is set to be played on October 22 in Riyadh.

Eight Qatari internationals – Hassan Al-Haydos, Saad Al-Dosari, Salem Al-Hajri, Tarek Salman, Pedro Miguel, Khoukhi Boualem, Akram Afif, Abdelkarim Hassan – joined the team on Wednesday, in addition to the Olympic team trio – Meshaal Barsham, Hussain Bahzad and Hashim Ali – who had joined two days earlier.

The Qatar national team players underwent recovery training after yesterday’s game against Oman in the joint Asian qualifiers, while the rest of the team worked on physical exercises and technical drills.

The trio of foreign internationals – Algerian striker Baghdad Bounedjah, and South Korean midfielders Jung Woo-young and Nam Tae-hee – are set to join the team on Thursday after the end of their participation with their respective national teams.

Al-Sadd honour young fan Mubarak Al Marri

Meanwhile, the Al-Sadd management honoured the team’s young supporter Mubarak Al Marri, by arranging a visit to the club’s new training facilities. Mubarak visited the premises on Wednesday evening alongside his father and brothers and watched the first team’s training session before taking photos with head coach Xavi Hernandez and the Al-Sadd players.

A video of Mubarak crying after Al-Sadd’s defeat to Al-Rayyan became popular on social media, and the club management decided to take the opportunity to honour him for his dedicaton to the team.
