Internationals return as Al-Sadd begin preparations for Hienghene Sport clash

Al-Sadd’s Qatari senior national team and Olympic team members returned to the club for training on Sunday, ahead of the upcoming 2019 FIFA Club World Cup opener against Oceania champions Hienghene Sport. The match is set to be played on Wednesday, December 11 at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.

The eight Qatar national team players (Hassan Al-Haydos, Saad Al-Dosari, Salem Al-Hajri, Pedro Miguel, Khoukhi Boualem, Tarek Salman, Akram Afif, Abdelkarim Hassan) and two Olympic team players (Meshaal Al-Shammari and Hashim Ali) returned to the squad after the end of their national team commitments.

The Al-Sadd team were in high spirits on Sunday as they trained as a full group for the first time after a while, with their focus fixed on the upcoming Club World Cup opener.

This will be Al-Sadd’s second appearance in the competition after 2011, when they finished third.

During Sunday’s training session, head coach Xavi Hernandez and his staff focused on tactical aspects before moving on to set-piece situations.
