Hassan Al-Haydos: The Esteghlal game will be tough, we’re capable of returning with a good result

Al-Sadd forward Hassan Al-Haydos is expecting a tough game when his side go head to head with Iran’s Esteghlal in the quarterfinals of the AFC Champions League. He stressed that the Wolves will turn with up a different mentality from the one they showed in the last game against Al-Gharafa.

“We hope luck will be on our side in the upcoming game against Esteghlal so that we can return home with a positive result before the second leg in Doha,” said Al-Haydos.

The Al-Sadd star also added: “Every team looks to win and will look to make use of small details to clinch the match. All that we are trying for in the next few days is to prepare well for the match, so that we can perform at our best and get the best result.”

Al-Haydso also said that the team spirit was the secret of their strength. “We have played against them (Esteghlal) on many occasions. The coaching staff and the players are capable of being fully ready before the upcoming game. The team has the experience of playing in Iranian stadiums in front of their fans, and we will work on that. We will work on that in the next game, in which we will need to fight to get the best result for the team.”

As for the draw in the last game against Al-Gharafa in the QNB Stars League, Al-Haydos said: “The game against Al-Gharafa is over. The team was not fortunate at all in front of goal. I hope that luck will be with us in the next game against Esteghlal.”
