Al-Sadd head coach Jesualdo Ferreira spoke to the media on Friday after the 4-2 win against Muaither in the QSL, describing the win as a deserved one.
Speaking at post-match press conference, Ferreira said: “We achieved a fair result that was deserved after a good performance in the first half, scoring three goals. In the second half, the players were drained physically, especially after playing the match against Lekhwiya in the third round. The team could have scored more goals.”
Speaking of the errors made by the team, the Al-Sadd coach said: “The errors were made in defence and in attack. The strikers could not add to the score even after many chances were created. It could have helped us become calmer.” Ferreira went on to point his displeasure at the fact that Al-Sadd could have scored six goals if the strikers had taken their chances well.
He also added: “The most important reason for the loss was the mental aspect; the players thought they had won the match at halftime after taking a 3-0 lead.”
Ferreira concluded by saying: “We always look to win; the Al-Sadd players are capable of giving their best in the upcoming games and overcoming the mistakes.”
