Al-Sadd head coach Jesualdo Ferreira spoke to the media about the importance and difficulty of the upcoming match against Lekhwiya in Round 23 of the Qatar Stars League. The match is set to kick off at 6 PM on Sunday at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Ferreira said: “We are going to face the champions of last season, Lekwhiya who are among the best teams in the league. Both teams are strong and have won a number of titles. I see it as a classic match and I hope the fans will attend in big numbers because it is going to be entertaining.”

The Portuguese added: “The two teams have the highest levels of professionalism and skills. I hope the match will be played at a high technical level just like all the tough matches in any league in the world. These kind of matches lift the quality of the league.”

As for Lekhwiya, the Al-Sadd coach said: “I saw the match between Al-Nassr and Lekhwiya on video. We will speak with the players about the importance of the match and we are preparing the team for all the matches. We will not underestimate the Lekhwiya team based on their fatigue because they have a strong bench. The players put up a great performance in training and we hope they will do well in the match.”

Ferreira also talked about the injuries. “From the beginning of the league we have had injuries. I will not speak about the players who will start the match, you will see it in the official lineup,” he said.

Ferreira concluded his talk saying: “Al-Sadd has improved a lot from the past; there is a blend between experience and youth. In the last match we did not have three crucial players and we played with thre kids. Due to all the circumstances we have gone through, such as the injuries, suspensions and national team call ups, we did not reach the ideal system. I think the positive results in the last games have helped.”
