Al-Sadd head coach Jesualdo Ferreira spoke to the media on Saturday ahead of the upcoming Qatar Stars League Round 21 game against Al-Gharafa, which is set to be played on Monday.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Ferreira said: “All the matches that we have played so far have been really hard. We had some difficulties with injuries and absentees and we tried to solve these issues. But we cannot play down the merit of the teams that have played well against us. All the teams that play against us play with a lot of spirit and give their best.”
The Al-Sadd coach went on to add: “We know that Al-Gharafa is a good team and has a great history in the league. Both teams will fight it out and we are going to work hard to be the winning side, the ones who get the three points – for we always play for the win.”
Ferreira also said: “We will seek to continue our wining run by defeating Al-Gharafa. We know that it will not be an easy match; we will give our best and try to make use of our chances. The great thing is the return of a number of players to the team.”
As for the possibility of Baghdad Bounedjah playing in the match, Ferreira said: “I will determine that on the day of the match. I will not talk now about the possibility of the newly-returned players taking part in the match.”
Asked about the chances of Al-Sadd finishing second, Ferreira said: “As far as I am concerned, I will fight to finish second in the league. I will try to give the players an incentive because we have a chance to get the required points and reach the runners-up spot; we will work and fight for that.”
