The delegation had earlier reached Bad Häring at 9:30 AM on Thursday to hold the camp which will last until the 5th of August.
The players were all in high spirits and raring to go as they look to prepare for the new season that will require a lot of hard work from everyone involved.
The first training session at Bad Häring ground began at 5:30 PM local time (6:30 PM Doha) and it was held amidst pouring rain which did not stop until the end of the session.
The session was held under the supervision of assistant coach Hesham Zahed, who spoke to the players before the start of the session to impress on them the importance of the preseason phase and the role it plays in preparing the player’s technical and physical condition before the season kicks off.
The session started with the warmup routines during which fitness coach Joao Marcos worked to relieve the players of their fatigue and the effect it has on their muscles. Later, the team moved on to movement drills such as running and reaction exercises. The players then went on to train with the ball, working on quick play with two touches and also putting pressure on the opponent. The session ended with a run around the pitch.
Al-Sadd are now scheduled to intensify its preparations from Friday when the team will train over two separate sessions – one in the morning from 9:30 AM and the other from 5:30 PM in the evening.
