Al-Sadd holds main training session to prepare for Al-Gharafa

​Al-Sadd SC football first team held its main training session from 6 PM on Saturday as part of its preparations for the upcoming QSL Round 21 game against Al-Gharafa, set to kick off at 7:30 PM on Monday at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.

The Wolves go into the match sitting in fourth place in the standings with 35 points, having defeated Al-Arabi 3-1 in its last match. On the other side, Al-Gharafa are in eighth place with 26 points. The first phase match between the two ended in a 1-0 win for Al-Sadd with the Brazilian striker Muriqui scoring the goal.

On Saturday, the Al-Sadd coaching staff used the session to select their options for the starting lineup for the game on Monday with many player having regained full fitness after returning to the squad.

After the warmup routine, the team was divided into two and a practice match was held in the middle of the pitch, which was competitively fought out by all the players.

Management & fans show their support

The training session was graced by the presence of the Al-Sadd management officials, in addition to a number of fans who showed up at the pitch to show their support for the team to keep winning, ahead of the Gharafa game.

Medical care for Talal

Talal Al-Baloushi underwent individual running exercises before going for recovery training at the medical clinic. He did not take part in group training.

Great displays by Khalfan & Bounedjah

The returning duo of Khalfan Ibrahim and Baghdad Bounedjah were prominent during training on Saturday, after a period of intense preparation which they underwent in order to return to the team.

Ibrahim Majid works to regain full fitness

Al-Sadd defender Ibrahim Majid continued on his road to full recovery as he trained under the supervision of team physio Joao and did not participate in group training. The Qatar international is training to reach full fitness and the coaching staff are working to prepare him for joining the team in the upcoming matches.

Ferreira corrects errors

Head coach Jesualdo Ferreira was keen to correct the errors committed in the movement of his players, intervening in the practice match on a number of occasions to do so.
