AFC Champions League: Afif and Pedro miss out, Al-Dosari returns to the squad
Al-Sadd goalkeeper Saad Al-Dosari returned to the squad ahead of the upcoming AFC Champions League clash against Pakhtakor tomorrow.
Saad had missed out on the action recently due to a muscle injury but he has now completed his recovery and is eligibile for selection for the game. Meanwhile, the duo of Pedro Miguel and Akram Afif will be unavailable due to accumulation of yellow cards.
Head coach Jesualdo Ferreira announced the 18-man matchday squad after the end of Sunday’s final training session. The squad is as follows: Saad Al-Dosari, Meshaal Barsham, Ibrahim Al-Saeed, Abdelkarim Hassan, Jung Woo-young, Ali Asad, Hassan Al-Haydos, Baghdad Bounedjah, Gabi, Tareq Salman, Khoukhi Boualem, Hassan Ahmed, Salem Al-Hajri, Yasir Abubakar, Xavi, Meshaal Ibrahim, Saoud Al-Nasr.
Later, the squad left for a camp at the Torch hotel, where they will stay overnight before leaving for the game tomorrow.
During Sunday’s final training session, the coaching staff focused on physical training, in addition to implementing some light technical drills. Afterwards, the players competed amongst themselves in a practice mini game.
