Al-Sadd Futsal opens Asian C’ship with 4-0 win over Taipower

Al-Sadd Futsal team opened the AFC Futsal Club Championship with a big 4-0 win over Taipower FC of Taiwan and thus qalified to the second stage of the tournament. The match was held at the Bangkok Arena from 12 PM on Friday. H.E. Jaber bin Ali Al-Dosari, the Qatari ambassador to Thailand, attended the game and congratulated the players on winning.

The Wolves were dangerous early on and created numerous chances. In the 16th minute of the first half, Al-Sadd opened the scoring. Captain Mohammed Ismail intercepted the ball and passed it to Abdulla Al-Salem at the right post who made no mistake in converting past the keeper.

After halftime, Al-Sadd continued their domination and showed their desire to score more goals. The coach Fernando Paolo instructed his players to put pressure on the opponents and exploit their mistakes.

A tactical move saw Amro Mohsen pass the ball to Mohammed Ismail who played it first time to the second post where Abdulla Salem was present to score the second goal for himself and his team.

Al-Sadd made it 3-0 with a goal from Mohammed Manea who finished off an accurate pass from Amro Mohsen. Two minutes later, Mohammed Manea scored his second goal and the fourth for the team after a great passing move that also involved Amro Mohsen and Mohammed Ismail.

The match thus ended 4-0 and the win meant that Al-Sadd qualified for the second stage. The Wolves will now meet Sanna Khanh Hoa of Vietnam in their second group game on Saturday, with the match kicking off at 12 PM Thai time (8 AM Qatar time).
