Al-Sadd kicked off their overseas camp with the first training session in Olot, Spain on Monday. The camp is set to last until the 29th of July.

The squad had earlier reached Barcelona on Sunday evening before traveling to the Hotel Vall de Bas in Olot. The team trained on Monday under the watchful eyes of new head coach Xavi Hernandez, who took charge for the first time.

The allocated training pitch is situated just five minutes away from the team hotel. Starting from 6:30 PM local time (7:30 PM Doha) the team worked on physical training, looking to get in shape ahead of a gruelling new season.

The Qatari international players joined the team for the training session after a break, in addition to the trio of Gabi, Nam Tae-hee and Jung Woo-young.

Fitness coach Ivan Torres focused on helping the players recover from fatigue and jet lag, before moving on to movement exercises. Later, the players trained with the ball, working on quick two-touch play.

Al-Sadd are now scheduled to intensify their training starting from Tuesday, when they will hold two sessions per day.
