Saoud Al Hajri: I will undergo the final phase of rehabilitation in Spain

Al-Sadd goalkeeper Saoud Al Hajri is getting ever closer to the end of his recuperation and is looking forward to returning to the team, after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury in August.

Speaking to the club website, Al Hajri said: “I’m still undergoing rehabiliation and I will work hard in order to reach complete physical and technical fitness.”

He said: “I will leave for Spain in the upcoming days for the final phase of rehabilitation at Espanyol, after which I will join group training at the start of February, ahead of the AFC Champions League games.”

“I want to express my gratitude for all the messages of love that I have received during the time I was injured, from Al-Sadd fans who have shown great support for me to return to the team.”

As for the team’s upcoming challenges, Al Hajri said: “Of course, the team has difficult challenges coming up, especially in the league, where we are in second place, two points off Al Duhail. We must be focused and work hard in order to get closer to the top spot.”

“I have huge confidence in the ability of the players to give their best in the second phase of the league. The AFC Champions League matches are also coming up and Al-Sadd will have to perform strongly on both fronts.”

Al Hajri concluded by saying: “I wish to return as soon as possible. I want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart and I am going to work hard every day to return.”
