Qatar Cup: Al-Sadd reach final with 4-1 win over Al-Rayyan
Al-Sadd reached the final of the 2020 Qatar Cup with a 4-1 win over Al-Rayyan in the semifinal clash which was held at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium on Saturday.
Moufak Awad gave Al-Rayyan the lead in the 15th minute, slotting in a rebound after Franck Kom’s initial shot was saved by Saad Al Dosari.
Al-Sadd equalised in the 38th minute through Khoukhi Boualem, who rose to head in past Fahad Younes following a corner played by Nam Tae-hee.
Nam was involved in Al-Sadd’s second goal as well, playing through Akram Afif in the 42nd minute with a great ball before the Asian Player of the Year finished with aplomb to make it 2-1.
Salem Al-Hajri then scored Al-Sadd’s third goal in the 54th minute, sliding in and finishing at the far post after a low cross from Hassan Al-Haydos.
The fourth and final goal arrived in the 68th minute, when Akram Afif’s cross from the right deflected in off Al-Rayyan’s Gabriel Mercado.
