OFFICIAL: Xavi extends stay at Al-Sadd until 2020
Al-Sadd’s midfield maestro Xavi Hernandez will stay at the club until the end of the 2019-2020 season, after he signed a two-year contract extension with the Wolves.
Xavi has just completed his third season with the club, after originally joining the club in 2015 on a two-year contract.
During his time at the club, Al-Sadd won the 2017 Qatar Cup, the 2017 Emir Cup and the 2017-18 Sheikh Jassim Cup. Xavi has also played a prominent role in leading the Wolves to the quarterfinals of the 2018 AFC Champions League, which will see the team face off with Esteghlal of Iran after the summer break.
Xavi: Happy to continue at Al-Sadd
In his first statement after signing the contract renewal, Xavi expressed his delight in remaining at the club.
“I am happy to keep on being a part of the Al-Sadd family for two more years,” said Xavi.
“I am delighted to be at the club and with its fans. Everyone here is one big family and I am satisfied and thrilled to continue.”
