Ibrahim Majid returns to training after recovery
Al-Sadd defender Ibrahim Majid made his return to first team training on Monday after the end of his treatment and physiotherapy which followed his ACL injury.
Ibrahim had sustained the injury during the team’s preseason preparations in August 2017. Since then, he underwent treatment at the Aspetar Sports Medicine Hospital before going through a training regime in Barcelona during the last three weeks in order to prepare for a return to full training.
His return is welcome news for the club, strengthening its options ahead of a crucial phase of matches in the domestic cups and in the AFC Champions League.
Speaking to the club website, Ibrahim expressed his delight at completing the recovery and making his return to training after a long period out of action.
“I am very happy to return to training with Al-Sadd. I have been waiting for this moment from the start of the season. I just needed the medical approval. I hope I can reach full fitness in the coming days,” said the player.
He also added: “I have been training alone for quite some time, undergoing some intense training in Barcelona before joining the team. I then got the green light to join the team for group training and I just hope I can play as soon as possible.”
Ibrahim went on to conclude by saying: “I am happy to return. I wish the team all the best in the upcoming match against Al-Duhail. I hope they can win and retain the Qatar Cup.”
