First team gets day off on Friday; training to resume on Saturday
The players of the Al-Sadd football first team were given a day off on Friday after a period of preparation that began with the return to training on November 7.
The Wolves had earlier got 4 days off as rest following the 4-0 win over Al-Shahaniya in Round 6 of the Qatar Stars League.
The team will return to training at 5:30 PM on Saturday at the club’s training pitch to resume the preparation as the coaches look to raise the players’ fitness levels, ahead of the QSL Round 7 match against Al-Wakrah on November 20.
On Thursday, the Al-Sadd team trained as usual but without 13 players who are away with the senior and Olympic national teams, in addition to Baghdad Bounedjah and Morteza Pouraliganji who are away with the Algerian and Iranian national teams respectively.
Thursday’s session saw specialized training for both attack and defence. The coaches also focused on reaction exercises in small areas to improve the players’ ability to press and win possession.
