Ferreira named Manager of the Month for December

Al Sadd’s head coach Jesualdo Ferreira was presented with the best head coach award for the month of December 2016 as per the figures and statistics presented by STATS in the QSL.

Ferreira was honoured with the award before the training session on Tuesday in a ceremony attended by players, officials and coaches.

During December, Al Sadd played five games, where they won four and drew one. Al Sadd defeated Al Khor by one goal in Round 9, defeated Al Rayyan by five goals in Round 10, defeated Umm Salal by eight goals in Round 11, defeated Al Sailiyah by three goals to one in Round 12 and tied versus El Jaish by one goal each in Round 13.

Al Sadd collected 13 points from the five games, scored 18 goals and conceded only two goals. Al Sadd succeeded in making an average goal-scoring opportunities of 14.8 per match.

STATS also indicated the average figure of passes by Al Sadd per match. Total number of passes reached 429, out of which 377 were successful passes, 120 short passes, 183 front passes, while the number of successful passes from one touch reached 84 per match and cross passes were 18.6 per match (11.4 passes from the right wing and 7.2 passes from the left wing).

Also the average number of maneuvers per match reached 10, the average number of reaching the opponents’ last third is 49 per match while entering the opponents’ penalty areas reached 29 per match and finally the average number of shots on goal reached 6 per match.
