Al-Sadd head coach Jesualdo Ferreira has spoken to the media ahead of the upcoming QSL Round 22 match against Al-Kharaitiyat. He stated that the match would be difficult and really important for Al-Sadd.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Ferreira said: “We got to important victories over Al-Khor and Al-Arabi before we experienced a decline in the last match against Al-Gharafa. We should not take away from the merit of Al-Gharafa despite the fact that we were not fortunate in that match.”
The coach also added: “The last match was very important because the points if we got them, could get us closer to third spot. We will work towards continuing our search for that in the remaining matches of the league.”
Ferreira also pointed out that Kharaitiyat game would be very difficult especially as Al-Sadd is suffering with the absence of a number of players. “I will be forced to make changes in the lineup according to what suits the team, in line with the strength of the opponent, who I predict will be powerful and difficult to beat. But we need to get back to winning ways again,” said the Portuguese.
The Al-Sadd coach also said: “We still gave the chance to finish in second place especially as there are matches against our direct rivals, especially El Jaish, in the next phase.
As for the participation of a number of youngsters with the team, Ferreira said: “I have never been afraid of depending on youth and the truth is Al-Sadd has the best youth talents and is the club that contributes the most number of players to the national team. As a coach I had to acclimatize to these situations and deal with the available players with professionalism. I will try to create a balance between the experienced players and youth so as to help get the positive results that we require.”
