Ferreira: Happy with the fighting spirit of the players

Al-Sadd head coach Jesualdo Ferreira expressed his delight after his team registered a big 6-0 win over Al-Kharaitiyat in the opening round of the 2018-19 QNB Stars League on Sunday.

Speaking after the match, Ferreira said: “It was a good match for us. We could have added to the scoreline. I am very happy with the fighting spirit of the players in the first match of the league. I think that the Al-Kharaitiyat defence could not withstand the pressure from Al-Sadd’s attacking players. We managed to score six goals and reach the top of the table at the end of the round.”

The coach added: “The fighting spirit and the good performance will continue in the next game against Al-Arabi. We aim to be strong against all the opponents and not just today.”

Ferreira also remarked that today’s game made it clear to everyone the amount of work that had gone into the team’s preseason preparations. “I hope it continues. This is also a message to all teams that we are ready for the league.”
