Ferreira: Fair result brought about by a strong performance

Al-Sadd head coach Jesualdo Ferreira called his team’s 4-0 win over Al-Kharaitiyat in their opening QSL game a “fair and reasonable” result.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Ferreira said: “Al-Sadd players put up a strong performance and showed high spirits which led them to the big score. They were very motivated, this being the first match and they gave a really great performance. The result is fair for what we did in terms of preparations. This is the first official match for us in two months and the players did their work to get a good win.”

He added: “Al-Sadd players were really motivated to give their best and perform well. They dominated the first half. We faced some danger from the counter attacks of Al-Kharaitiyat; I told the players during halftime to keep focusing and to continue to pressurize the opponent.”

Ferreira also pointed out that the win was a completely deserved result, saying: The big win is not because of the dip in performance from Al-Kharaitiyat as much as it due to the strength and performance from the Al-Sadd players.”

As for the Wolves’ ambitions in the new season, Ferreira said: “My ambition is to win every match. I am not here in Qatar for a tour. I coach the Boss of the Qatari clubs in terms of titles, with all my respect to the other clubs. Our aim in this season is to win the league title. We need to work hard to help achieve this.”
