Ferreira: Deserved win, we aim to stay in second

Al-Sadd head coach Jesualdo Ferreira spoke the media and emphasised the importance of the 3-2 win his team achieved over Al-Sailiya in the QSL Round 24 match played on Saturday. He said that it was a deserved win and that the players were at a high level of performance to return from two goals down.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Ferreira said: The match was tough and the toughest thing was to come back after you are down by two goals to win 3-2. Al-Sadd got a deserved win and I am grateful to the players for the good performance which they showed despite not having a complete team training for the last two weeks.

The Al-Sadd coach also added: “We now have to keep hold of second place until the end of the league. We have two really important matches to go against Al-Rayyan and El-Jaish and our goal is to get the six points from them.” He also said that the team for the next two matches will be similar to the one which played against Al-Sailiya.

The Portuguese concluded his talk by saying: “I knew that the Sailiya match would not be easy. We benefited a lot from El Jaish and Lekhwiya dropping points. We aim to get wins against El Jaish and Al-Rayyan now to finish in second place.”
