Draw held for 2016 Emir Cup

The draw for HH the Emir Cup 2016, the 44th edition of the tournament, was held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Doha on Wednesday morning. The ceremony was attended by Qatar Football Assoication (QFA) president HE Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Thani; vice president Saoud Al-Muhannadi and general secretary Mansour Al-Ansari.
Al-Sadd was represented by CEO Turki Nasser Al-Ali, sporting director Mohamemd Gholam Al-Balooshi, first team manager Abdulla Al-Breik and head coach Jesualdo Ferreira.
The draw was conducted by the QFA and determined the fortunes of the 18 teams which will participate in the tournament. The Emir Cup is set to be played over six rounds with the first round kicks off on 18th April and the final set for 20th May. The matches will be held in three stadiums: Qatar SC, Al-Arabi and Al-Sadd.
Al-Sadd will play its first match in the tournament on May 8th if it manages to finish in the top 4 in the Qatar Stars League.
