Bounedjah: It will be a difficult Clasico but we’re capable of winning

Al-Sadd forward Baghdad Bounedjah spoke up about the upcoming clash against Al-Rayyan, saying that it would be a “hard-fought and difficult” match. The QSL Round 10 game is set to be played at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium on Wednesday.

Speaking to the media ahead of the start of Monday’s main training session, Bounedjah said: “There is no doubt that the match against Al-Rayyan will be important for every player on the team. It is a big challenge for everyone and I hope we will be at our best level so that we can get the win and the three points.”

He went on to add: “Of course, it will be a hard-fought match between the players and everyone is motivated to give their best. It will surely be an exciting challenge and an entertaining match for the fans.”

As for the competition for the top spot, the Algerian striker said: “The league campaign still has a long way to go. We need to work hard during the upcoming matches and not commit errors in order to avoid dropping points. We need to win, especially over our competitors for the title.”

Bounedjah concluded by saying: “The match against Al-Rayyan will have its own special circumstances. I hope fortune favours Al-Sadd and that we are capable of getting the win and the three points.”
