Baghdad Bounedjah: My goal is to score against Al-Duhail
Al-Sadd striker Bagdhad Bounedjah spoke about the need to perform at the best level and make the chances count ahead of Friday’s Qatar Cup final, when his side take on Al-Duhail.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Bounedjah said: “The match between the league winners and the runners-up will be an intense one. I hope we will perform well. Al-Duhail have players of a high calibre. Our aim is to defeat them and retain the Qatar Cup title.”
He added: “We will give our best and we won’t let them repeat what happened in the league. This is a final and we must focus on not conceding, and also focus on making use of every opportunity that comes our way in order to take the initiative. Our aim is to end the match before it goes to penalties.”
“The matches between our teams always have goals in them. We will work hard to score against them and make our fans happy.”
Bounedjah concluded by saying: “Al-Duhail are more fortunate than us. In the game between us in the league, we were leading until the last minutes when they overturned the result. This happened in the 2016 Emir’s Cup final as well. However, the next final will be different and we will fight to retain the title.”
