The Al-Sadd football first team resumed training at 6 PM on Sunday following a two-day period of rest. Al-Sadd currently sit on top of the QSL standings with six points from two games after wins over Al-Kharaitiyat and Al-Ahli.

Sunday’s training session was held in the absence of 15 players who were away on national duty.

8 of those players (Saad Al-Dosari, Ibrahim Majid, Pedro Miguel, Abdelkarim Hassan, Mohammed Kasola, Ali Asad, Musab Kheder and Hassan Al-Haydos) are currently with the senior Qatar national team for the training camp ahead of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers against South Korea and Syria.

Six others (Hossam Kamal, Hatem Kamal, Ayoob Mashhoor, Meshaal Al-Shammari, Abdulaziz Al-Khalosi, Salem Al-Hajri) are with the Qatar Olympic team, who are preparing for the friendly against Thailand on October 10.

Iranian defender Morteza Pouraliganji is also away with his national duty for the World Cup qualifying matches against Uzbekistan and South Korea.

The coaching staff used Sunday’s session to focus on physical aspects as head coach Jesualdo Ferreira looks to raising the team’s fitness levels ahead of the QSL Round 3 game against Lekhwiya, which will be played on October 16 at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium.
