1 min read

The Al-Sadd football first team resumed training on Friday evening, after a five-day break which followed the big 7-1 victory over Al-Shahaniya in Week 2 of the QNB Stars League. The result kept the Wolves on top of the league table with six points.

Al-Sadd are now preparing for the AFC Champions League quarter-final second leg against Al-Nassr, which is set to be played on September 16 at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.

The Wolves are missing 11 players who are currently away with the Qatar national team (Saad Al-Dosari, Meshaal Barsham, Pedro Miguel, Abdelkarim Hassan, Tarek Salman, Hassan Al-Haydos, Akram Afif, Salem Al-Hajri, Khoukhi Boualem, Hashim Ali, Abdulaziz Al-Ansari), in addition to Baghdad Bounedjah and Jung Woo-young who are representing Algeria and South Korea on international duty.

The coaching staff are looking to prepare the available players and keep them in top condition ahead of the upcoming games. During Friday’s session, the coaches had the U-23 players train with the first team to make up for the absence of the international players.
