Al-Sadd overcome Al-Khor 5-4 in the QatarGas League

Al-Sadd SC football reserve team defeated Al-Khor reserves 5-4 in the QatarGas League Round 14 clash held at the Thani Bin Jassim Stadium on Tuesday. The Wolves thus earned three more points and currently have 16 points in the league table.

Al-Khor took an early lead in the match when Ahmed Al-Mohannadi scored in the 6th minute. Lacina Diaby doubled their lead with a strike in the 23rd minute before Al-Mohannadi scored his second goal in the 30th minute to make the score 3-0 to Al-Khor.

Two minutes later, Al-Sadd pulled one back when midfielder Hamad Mansour scored. However, Diaby turned up once again to score and regain the three goal cushion for Al-Khor, making it 4-1 in the 34th minute. Nasser Ibrahim then scored for Al-Sadd just a minute later before Saoud Ibrahim added another in the 40th minute with a powerful effort from inside the box. Nasser went on to miss a penalty in the 43rd minute after which the referee blew his whistle for halftime with the score at 4-3.

The second half began with both teams fighting out spiritedly. Al-Sadd had the upper hand but were not able to translate their dominance into goals. That was until Nasser Ibrahim struck the equalizer with a solo effort that ended with a lob over the keeper ten minutes from full time. In the 86th minute, Al-Sadd managed to find a winner; Hossam Kamal scored the fifth goal to give his team the lead for the first time in the match. That would prove to be the final goal of the match and Al-Sadd emerged winners after an exciting 90 minutes.

Al-Sadd reserves began the match with the following XI: Steven Tedga, Ali Faydh, Ahmed Sohail, Mohammed Waad, Hossam Kamal, Hamad Mansour, Ibrahim Faqeeh, Saoud Ibrahim, Ahmed Mohammed, Nasser Ibrahim, Hassan Palang.

Gaser Yahya, Abdulaziz Al-Jalabi and Yousef Abdulrazaq came on in the second half as substitutes.​
