Al-Sadd intensify preparations for the Clasico against Al-Rayyan
Al-Sadd football first team continued to train on Sunday, intensifying its preparations for the upcoming QSL Round 10 game against Al-Rayyan, which is set to be played on the 7th of December at the Thani bin Jassim Stadium.
The team had earlier resumed training on Saturday, without taking any day off after the last match against Al-Khor on Friday.
All the players were in high spirits during the session on Sunday, as the team look to stay on the winning path and get more points in the bag.
The coaching staff were keen to improve the players’ fitness and technical levels, especially as what lies ahead is a difficult clash against defending champions Al-Rayyan. The first string players underwent a recovery session on Saturday in order to regain their fitness ahead of the match.
The Sunday session saw the coaches give priority to developing the counter attacking style of the team, which is something head coach Jesualdo Ferreira has focused on recently. The coaching staff also looked to solve the problem of wasting chances in front of goal, which has happened numerous times in the recent matches.
Meanwhile, Ferreira was also keen to give importance to midfield, which will be the first line of defence, especially as midfield play will be crucial to keeping possession and controlling play.
Substitutes undergo training in the gym
The players who did not take part in the last game against Al-Khor underwent a session in side the club gym on Sunday before moving on to ball training. The coaching staff want all the players to reach the same level of fitness in preparation for the big games.
Main session on Monday
The Al-Sadd team will hold its main training session at the club’s training pitch from 5:30 PM on Monday, during which the coaches will look to select their options for the starting XI against Al-Rayyan.
