Al-Sadd intensify preparations for second phase, Bounedjah ruled out

The Al-Sadd football first team has intensified its preparations for the resumption of the QNB Stars League, with the second phase of the competition set to begin this week.

The second phase will open with Round 12, which pits Al-Sadd with Al-Markhiya in the game that will be played at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium on Saturday, January 13.

Al-Sadd are currently in second place in the league standings with 27 points. The Wolves have intensified their preparations ahead of the resumption of the league, especially after the international players rejoined the team following the end of the break.

Tactical training

The Al-Sadd coaching staff, led by head coach Jesualdo Ferreira, focused on tactical training during Wednesday’s session. The team worked on tactical moves in both attack and defence.

Bounedjah ruled out of the match

Algerian striker Baghdad Bounedjah has been ruled out of the upcoming game against Al-Markhiya as he has not reached full fitness following his injury.

Main training session on Thursday

The team will undergo its main training session on Thursday evening at the club’s training pitch, with the coaching staff set to choose their options for the starting lineup.

Ferreira and Yasser to attend presser

The pre-match press conference will be held at the club’s conference hall from 4:30 PM on Thursday, and will be attended by head coach Ferreira and left-back Yasser Abubakar.
