Al-Sadd honour Xavi on reaching landmark 100th game
The Al-Sadd management, staff and players honoured the team captain and Spanish legend Xavi Hernandez, after he completed his 100th match with the Wolves in all competitions.
Xavi reached the landmark in the game against Persepolis in the first leg of the AFC Champions League semifinals.
The team honoured Xavi on the sidelines of the main training session which was held on Friday, ahead of the QNB Stars League game with Al Sailiya.
Al-Sadd will go into the game with a tally of 16 points, sitting on top of the table after six games, with a delayed game against Al-Khor yet to be played. On the other hand, Al Sailiya are in third place with 15 points.
During Friday’s session, the Al-Sadd coaching staff focused on correcting the errors from the previous game and head coach Jesualdo Ferreira was keen to stop the practice mini game on several occasions to implement tactical moves.
On a related note, the pre-match press conference is scheduled to be held on Saturday from 5 PM onwards at the club’s conference hall, with Ferreira and Salem Al-Hajri set to attend.
