The Al-Sadd first team held their main training from 12 PM onwards on Thursday at the secondary pitch of the club, in preparation for the upcoming clash against Al Sailiya in Round 14 of the QNB Stars League. The match is set to kick off at 4:35 PM on Saturday, the 1st of February.
Al-Sadd go into the meeting with 27 points, sitting in third place in the QNB Stars League table, while Al-Sailiya occupies sixth place with 17 points.
In their last league match, Al-Sadd had defeated Al-Shahaniya 4-2. The Wolves had also won 3-1 over Al-Sailiya when the two teams met in the first phase of this league campaign.
During Thursday’s main session, the coaching staff looked to select their options for the starting lineup against Al-Sailiya, amidst great competition in the squad for places in the first eleven.
Head coach Xavi was keen to correct the players’ mistakes in movement and dribbling, while he also implemented certain special moves in the middle of the practice mini-game, which was held at the end of the session.
Xavi also took time out to speak with the players about the key technical points of the match, which is set to be an important test for the Wolves.
The Al-Sadd team is now scheduled to hold their final session from 5:30 pm on Friday, at the end of which the coach will announce the matchday squad, before departing for the team hotel for an overnight camp.
