Al-Sadd hold main training session to prepare for Al-Khor, Hamroun ruled out
The Al-Sadd football first team held its main training session from 6:30 PM on Tuesday as part of the preparations for the upcoming Emir’s Cup quarterfinal match against Al-Khor, which is set to be played on Thursday at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium.
The coaching staff used Tuesday’s session to work on selecting their options for the starting lineup, in light of injuries and suspensions that have hit the team recently.
After working on physical conditioning, the players moved on to drills that focused on quick play and movement while under pressure from the opponent. Later, the head coach implemented shooting exercises.
Hamroun ruled out
Al-Sadd’s Algerian winger Jugurtha Hamroun has been ruled out of the upcoming match against Al-Khor after picking up a ligament injury while training on Monday. He is now scheduled to undergo a medical examination which will determine the extent of the injury and his absence from the team.
Xavi and Bounedjah set to miss out
Al-Sadd are also set to miss the services of Xavi and Baghdad Bounedjah for the game against Al-Khor after the duo were suspended following the Qatar Cup final against Al-Duhail.
Ferreira and Ghassan set to attend presser
The pre-match press conference will be held from 10:20 AM on Wednesday at Al-Gharafa Club.
