Al-Sadd hold main training session for summit clash with Al-Duhail
The Al-Sadd football first team held their main training session on Thursday, ahead of the upcoming QNB Stars League summit clash with Al-Duhail, which will be played on Saturday at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium.
Al-Sadd go into the match as league leaders with a tally of 50 points, four above second-placed Al-Duhail. The first phase meeting between the two sides ended in a 3-1 win for Al-Sadd.
Saturday’s game could be decisive, with Al-Sadd set to be crowned as champions if they win.
Baghdad Bounedjah and Jung Woo-young both returned to training after the end of their national duty during the international break.
Head coach Jesualdo Ferreira held a meeting with the players before the start of the training session, speaking to them about the objectives they aim to achieve in the game.
The coaching staff then focused on certain offensive strategies before moving on to a practice mini game.
The three goalkeepers underwent intense training, supervised by goalkeeping coach Eduardo Perez, who focused on agility, balance and reactions.
Al-Sadd’s four U23 players trained hard on Thursday, after earlier returning to the squad on Wednesday following the end of their participation with the Qatar U23 team in the AFC U23 Championship qualifiers.
Meanwhile, the team is set to hold the final training session from 6:15 PM on Friday at the practice pitch. Afte the session, the coach will announce the matchday squad.
