Akram Afif: This was an important win

Al-Sadd star Akram Afif believes that his side’s 4-0 win over Al-Shahaniya in the QNB Stars League was an important result.

Speaking after the match, Akram said: “This is an important win in our league campaign. We managed to secure the result in the first half itself. Fatigue affected the team a lot in the second half, during which we wasted many chances.”

He added: “The team is moving ahead with firm steps both in Asia and at home. I hope that after our return from the international break, we will be able to display the same level of form and keep winning games, especially now as we are close to the semi-finals of the AFC Champions League.”
