Akram Afif: I dream of winning titles with Al-Sadd
Al-Sadd’s new signing Akram Afif spoke of his desire to win trophies with the Wolves, after his return to the club was confirmed.
Speaking to the official club website, Afif said: “I am happy to return to Al-Sadd again. I started out with the U-12 team and advanced through the youth system before reaching the U-17s, after which I moved to Sevilla and then Villarreal in Spain. I then played at Eupen before joining Villarreal, from where I went on loan to Sporting Gijon and Eupen.”
“Now I am back in Al-Sadd but this will be my first time with the first team.”
“Joining Al-Sadd presents a big challenge for me. It’s a huge responsibility and honour for any player and I hope my time here will be successful. I hope I can gain the trust of the coaching staff,” added the young Qatari star.
Afif also spoke of the experiences he gained while playing in Europe. “I gained a lot of experience during my time in Spain and Belgium. I hope that I can now work hard with Al-Sadd and help them to victories.”
“I am delighted to return here and I promise everyone that I will work hard to always give my best and help the team win titles.”
The 21-year old went on to conclude by saying: “Al-Sadd have big players in their team, both domestic and foreign. Of course, working with them will be exciting. This will help us on our way to success in the upcoming challenges, as Al-Sadd look to reach the podium.”
