AFC Champions League: Turki Al-Ali to lead Al-Sadd delegation to Jeddah
The Al-Sadd football first team delegation will leave for Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Saturday, ahead of the upcoming AFC Champions League Round of 16 second leg game against Al-Ahli, which will be played at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium on Monday.
The 21-member squad travelling to Jeddah is as follows: Saad Al-Dosari, Meshaal Barsham, Saoud Al-Hajri, Abdelkarim Hassan, Morteza Pouraliganji, Baghdad Bounedjah, Pedro Miguel, Xavi Hernandez, Ahmed Sohail, Hassan Al-Haydos, Ibrahim Majid, Akram Afif, Salem Al-Hajri, Hassan Ahmed, Ahmed Sayyar, Musab Kheder, Jugurtha Hamroun, Hamed Ismail, Yasir Abubakar, Ali Ferydoon
Al-Sadd general manager Turki Al Ali will lead the delegation and he will be accompanied by sporting director Mohammed Gholam Al-Baloushi, first team manager Abdullah Al-Breik, first team officer Mohammed Saeed and U23 team manager Abdulaziz Al-Jeaidi.
Head coach Jesualdo Ferreira will lead the coaching staff, which consist of assistant coach Nuno Miguel, fitness coach Jose Pedro, technical analyst Pedro Antonio, goalkeeping coach Luca Squinzani. Also on the delegation are team doctor Mohammed Soltani, physiotherapists Hussain Al Manae and Akram Obaid, masseurs Admir and Ritchie, club website representatives Samir Shawqy and Mina Fayiz and helpers Abdulmalik Waheed, Musa Puthan and Laris Miah.
The first leg clash between the two teams saw Al-Sadd prevail 2-1 at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium. The Wolves will now look to ensure their progress to the quarterfinals with another positive result in Jeddah.
The team held their last training in Doha on Thursday, just a day after the 1-0 loss to Al-Duhail in the Emir Cup. After their arrival in Jeddah, the team will train at the match venue on Sunday, while team officials will also attend the press conference and match coordination meeting.
