Al-Sadd hold main training session to prepare for Al-Ahli
The Al-Sadd football first team held its main training session on Wednesday evening at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium as part of the preparations for the upcoming Qatar Stars League Round 2 game against Al-Ahli on Friday. The game will be played at the Wolves’ home and will kick off at 8 PM.
Al-Sadd go into the match sitting on top of the table with 3 points after defeating Al-Kharaitiyat 4-0 in Round 1. As for Al-Ahli, they also have three points after they defeated Al-Gharafa 4-2.
During Wednesday’s session, the Al-Sadd coaching staff trained the lineup which is expected to play the match, with focus given to the playing style. Tactical aspects like the individual and group pressure were also given priority, in addition to quick play.
There was an atmosphere of great spirits and excitement inside the stadium, with the team looking to build on the Round 1 win over Al-Kharaitiyay and continue in the same vein, in order to confirm Al-Sadd’s serious intentions to win the title.
Head coach Jesualdo Ferreira intervened on many occasions to correct certain errors made by the players and gave them specific instructions.
Al-Sadd defender Abdelkarim Hassan did not take part in normal training with the group but instead underwent an individual session, overseen by phsyio Joao, as he looks to get back to full fitness following the surgery on his left hand.
Finally, going back to the same fixture last season, Al-Sadd defeated Al-Ahli 2-1 in the first phase of the league while drawing 1-1 in the second phase.
