Abdullah Hamad Al-Attiyah: Al-Sadd can never be satisfied with second place

Al-Sadd founding father His Excellency Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Attiyah spoke of how confident he was that the 2017 Qatar Cup trophy would reach the Al-Sadd trophy room. Describing Al-Sadd as a club of many titles and achievements, Al-Attiyah also went on to say that the team fully deserved their first ever title in the competition’s new format.

Al-Attiyah said: “I am very happy with this title win, especially as Al-Sadd could only finish as runners up last season. In the league too, Al-Sadd was second so this win in the Qatar Cup, with its new name, will be special for the club.”

The former club president also said: “We deserved to win this cup. The Wolves did very well and played like men on the field. Any other team will require many years to reach Al-Sadd’s records when it comes to titles. This is the club’s 66th title in its history. We hope that the team will continue on the same path in HH the Emir’s Cup.”

He went on to add: “There is no title that Al-Sadd hasn’t won. I am happy that the trophy room is now filled with all the local and international titles. Al-Sadd can never be satisfied with reaching second place; that is failure for us.”

Al-Attiyah concluded by saying: “I dedicate this triumph to all the fans of the club who didn’t disappoint and were the prime support for the team leading to the title win.”
