Abdelkarim Hassan returns to the squad for derby clash

Al-Sadd defender Abdelkarim Hassan returned to the first team squad for the upcoming derby clash against Al-Arabi in the QNB Stars League, after the end of his suspension. The player had earlier missed the Round 1 game against Al-Kharaitiyat while serving a one-match suspension for a red card he picked up at the end of last season.

The squad for the Al-Arabi game was announced on Saturday evening, after the end of the final training session at the club’s training facilities. During the session, the coaching staff focused on physical training and light technical drills before moving on to a mini practice game between the players.

The 18-man squad announced by head coach Jesualdo Ferreira is as follows: Saoud Al-Hajri, Meshaal Barsham, Yasir Abubakar, Khoukhi Boualem Ibrahim Majid, Baghdad Bounedjah, Pedro Miguel, Xavi, Gabi, Jung Woo-young, Hamid Ismail, Akram Afif, Abdelkarim Hassan, Ali Asad, Hassan Al-Haydos, Salem Al-Hajri, Ahmed Suhail, Ahmed Sayyar.

At the end of the session, the team left for a closed camp at the Westin Doha Hotel, where they will stay overnight before leaving for the game on Sunday. The match is set to kick off at 7:40 PM at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.
