Al Sadd Sports Club has announced that they have rescheduled the huge sporting event”Qatar Mega Marathon 2015″ under the patronage of H. H. Sheikh Muhammed Bin Khalifa Al Thani, to be held on the last week of March 2015 instead of 6th February 2015. In order for the Organizing Committee to have more time for a proper preparation to reflect an honorable image, which commensurate with the name of the State of Qatar.
The General Secretary of Al Sadd Sports Club, Jassim Al Rumaihi, stated; “The size of participation in “Qatar Mega Marathon 2015″ from nationals and expatriates of the State of Qatar is huge and reach up to more than 45,000 participant, which requires adequate and exceptional preparations by the Organizing Committee. This huge sporting event will be the first event to be held in Qatar and the Arab World that will target all segments and all ages of the Qatari society.”
Saying: “Al Sadd Sports Club attempts to break the world record with the Most Runners in a Marathon in the world based on the number of the participants.For Al Sadd Sports Club to take on its responsibility to organize such a huge sporting event represents our commitment to the vision of His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State. Also to Qatar National Vision 2030 and sport is one of its most important pillars to promote the sporting awareness, as a kind of the social responsibility and encouraging the youth to participate in sporting events and adapt a healthy lifestyle.”
He Added: ” The Organizing Committee of Qatar Mega Marathon 2015 will continue the hard work every day to put all the arrangements and to complete of all the preparations, both with regard to the mechanisms for participations and the insurance for the path of the marathon in collaboration with the responsible authorities in order for this event to reflect an honorable image, which commensurate with the name of the State of Qatar. Through Qatar Mega Marathon 2015 we are sending a message to the world presenting Qatar’s ability to challenge and create miracles. Our goal doesn’t stop at breaking the world record, it is to convey the truespirit of sport, which holds respect of winning and losing, durability, patience and challenge. As if we couldn’t break the record, the honor of the attempt will be enough. We will accept the results with sporting spirit and promise to repeat the attempt. Therefore, I am inviting everyone, all of the Individuals, National Enterprises and Government Institutions to participate in this huge sporting event and to Run With Qatar”
