Xavi: We must be focused against Al-Khor

Al-Sadd head coach Xavi Hernandez stressed on the difficulty of the upcoming clash with Al Khor in the postponed Round 7 game of the QNB Stars League.

Speaking during the pre-match press conference, Xavi said: “It is a very difficult match, especially after the big win in the Qatar Cup. We must now focus on the league and the Al Khor match. We lost 4 games in the league championship, and from tomorrow’s match onwards we must win all the matches.”

The Al-Sadd coach added: “Al-Khor has improved a lot and is excellent with the counter-attack. The game will be at their home and we must be focused, and must not lose any points.”

Xavi continued: “We lost to Qatar and Al Wakrah, so if we do not focus in front of Al-Khor, we can lose again.”

And on the team’s excellent performances in the last few games, the Spanish coach said: We must play with the same pressure that we played against Al-Duhail and Al-Rayyan especially as Al Khor is a strong team with high capabilities. We must play the game with all our strength.”

Regarding Salem Al-Hajri’s development in the recent period, Xavi pointed out that Al-Hajri was his teammate, and that he had great trust in him.

He added: “Salem is still young, and yet he is a role model and has his own personality, and I love him as a person and as a player, who helps the team at all times.”

The coach concluded by saying: “We have to rotate between the players. In tomorrow’s game, I do not know yet how the team will be because of the rest they got yesterday. During today’s session, we will select the appropriate squad for the match, in which we are only aiming for three points.”
