Ferreira: Al-Arabi match is an important derby; we want the three points
Al-Sadd head coach Jesualdo Ferreira spoke to the media on Thursday, stressing on the importance and difficulty of the upcoming QSL Round 8 match against Al-Arabi, which will be played on Saturday at the Grand Hamad Stadium.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Ferreira said: “Derby matches are special all over the world, with festivities before and after the match. This match is important for both teams. We are looking to make amends by winning the derby and making our fans happy.”
The Al-Sadd boss went on to say: “We drew with both Al-Gharafa and Al-Wakrah. The last draw was difficult to accept, especially as we were looking to strengthen our position at the top of the table. But this is football and we need to accept that and then work to give our best in the coming rounds.”
Ferreira added: “The situation with the Wakrah game was different. The players have forgotten that match and it is now history. We are only thinking about getting three points against Al-Arabi. For me, Al-Arabi are a strong and competitive team; we will also fight hard to win and stay near the summit.”
