Al-Sadd resume training; Akram named as best player for November
The Al-Sadd football first team resumed training on Tuesday, as part of the preparations for the upcoming QNB Stars League Round 15 game against Al-Shahaniya.
On the sidelines of the training session, Akram Afif was honoured with the club’s best player award for the month of November, after a fan vote on Instagram.
Afif played a prominent part in Al-Sadd’s impressive performances recently, taking his goal tally to 14 and helping Al-Sadd maintain second spot in the table with 32 points.
Head coach Jesualdo Ferreira presented the award to Afif in the presence of his teammates, who congratulated him on winning the accolade.
Expressing his delight, Afif said: “I’m very happy to win this award. This signifies a huge responsibility on me, and I want to thank everyone who voted for me. In the end, this is the result of the work of my teammates and the entire team.”
He added: “I want to thank my teammates because this achievement is for them before myself and I’d like to thank every member of the group.I will always work hard in the upcoming games to help the team get more points in the race for the title.
Meanwhile, the first team trained as usual after a day of rest which followed the 8-1 win over Al-Gharafa.
The coaching staff put in place the physical training routine, in addition to training with the ball. The team is preparing intensely for the upcoming clash with Al-Shahaniya, which will be played at the Grand Hamad Stadium on Friday.
