Baghdad Bounedjah is the Player of the Month for August

Algerian striker Baghdad Bounedjah has been selected as Al-Sadd’s Player of the Month for August.

Bounedjah won the award after receiving the most votes in a fan vote on the club’s Instagram page.

The 26-year-old striker leads the QNB Stars League scorers chart with 10 goals after three games and is also the AFC Champions League top scorer with 11 goals.

Head coach Jesualdo Ferreira and first team manager Abdullah Al-Breik jointly presented Bounedjah with the award in a short ceremony before the start of the training session, in the presence of the players, team officials and coaching staff.

Bounedjah expressed his delight at winning the award and said: “I want to thank the fans who voted for me. I also want to thank my teammates for their performances in the recent matches, which has led us to top the league and come back with a good result from the AFC Champions League quaterfinal first leg. I hope the fans support the team well in the upcoming games, starting from the league game against Al-Shahaniya and then in the AFC Champions League as well.”
