Al-Sadd intensify preparations ahead of Qatar Cup final

The Al-Sadd football first team has intensified its preparations for the upcoming 2017 Qatar Cup final against El-Jaish, which will be played on Saturday, April 29 at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.

The team held its training session from 6:30 PM on Tuesday at the club’s training pitch. All the available players participated in the session that was supervised by head coach Jesualdo Ferreira. The players were in high spirits after the fine performance in the win over Al-Rayyan in the semifinal.

Tuesday’s session saw the coaches focus on improving the counter attacking style and the quick transition from defence to attack. Ferreira has been focusing on this aspect in recent weeks and the results were seen during the last match against Al-Rayyan.

Ferreira also worked on the midfield and the ability of the players to keep the ball for longer periods. At the end of the session, the coaching staff implemented practice drills for crosses coming in from the wings and also from deep.

Technical meeting

Before the start of the training session, Ferreira held a meeting with the players in the centre of the pitch and talked to them about the important technical matters ahead of the upcoming final, which will be a crucial game for the Wolves as they seek to win their first title of the season.

Open session for the media

Tuesday’s session was declared an open session for members of the media. Reporters from various media in Qatar attended the session to cover the preparations of the team ahead of the Qatar Cup final.
