Bounedjah: The award is a great responsibility

Al-Sadd striker Baghdad Bounedjah has spoken of his happiness after being awarded the club’s Best Player title for the month of September, saying that it is an honour that motivates him to excel further and work harder with the team.

Bounedjah was chosen for the award by fans on the club’s official Instagram page.

Speaking to the club website after receiving the award, Bounedjah said: “I am really happy to get this award which represents a great responsibility. I want to thank all those who chose me (for the award). In the end, it is down to the efforts of my teammates and the whole team.”

He added: “I want to thank all my teammates because this achievement is for them before it is for me. I want to thank every member of the group.” Bounedjah went on to say that he would always work to give his best for the team in order to win matches and get points in the pursuit of the league title.

The Algerian said: “I always focus on winning and achieving titles with the team. This is what we are seeking in this season. We will compete hard for that, particularly with the kind of focus and mindset we have right now. Al-Sadd is a team that wins titles and as a member of this team, I seek to win titles.”
